Who We are

HEART LAKE RUN is an incorporated not-for-profit organization that seeks to address global challenges through local solutions and initiatives.

The main challenges we focus on based on UN Global Goals are:

  • Zero Hunger
  • Life on Land
  • Climate Action

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 goals for a better world by 2030. These goals have the power to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. Guided by the goals, it has been upto to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.

Goal #2  - Zero Hunger

  • Zero Hunger challenge aims to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030, making sure all people – especially children and the more vulnerable – have access to sufficient and nutritious food all year round.
  • This involves promoting sustainable agricultural practices: improving the livelihoods and capacities of small scale farmers, allowing equal access to land, technology and markets.
  • It also requires international cooperation to ensure investment in infrastructure and technology to improve agricultural productivity.

Goal #15  - Life on Land

  • Life on Land aims to conserve and restore the use of terrestrial ecosystems such as forests, wetlands, dry-lands and mountains by 2030.
  • Promoting the sustainable management of forests and halting deforestation is also vital to mitigating the impact of climate change.
  • Urgent action must be taken to reduce the loss of natural habitats and biodiversity which are part of our common heritage.

Goal #13  - Climate Action

  • Climate Action aims at combating Climate change which is affecting every country on every continent.
  • It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow.
  • Weather patterns are changing, sea levels are rising, weather events are becoming more extreme and greenhouse gas emissions are now at their highest levels in history.
